Don’t put too much text on one slide. The information on the slides should not be word for word what you will be saying. People remember short bits of information, not sentences. Only have critical information in full detail.
Create the look for the audience. Include some pictures. Put information in graphics form if possible. Don’t go crazy with the animations. Look online for great presentations. Use large legible font and size.
Be confident! Look good. Do not read from the slides word for word. Do not read from index cards. Eye contact with audience. Talk slowly, Talk clearly, Don’t mumble. Try not to say “um”. Try to engage the audience if appropriate - ◦ Ask questions ◦ Show of hands
Make a tape of yourself. ◦ Look for fidgeting. ◦ Look for “Ums”. ◦ What is your body language saying? ◦ Did you forget anything? Look online for other good presentation skills, tips and tricks. Toastmasters – speech giving club.
