The Reality of Water The Midwest and Water: We are Lucky! 1/5 th of the Freshwater available on this planet exists here in the Great Lakes Basin Most parts of the world do not have the same access to freshwater that we do
Water Realities Now prohibited in California 1. Overwatering lawns to the point of creating runoff 2. Washing a car with a garden hose not fitted with a shutoff nozzle 3. Hosing down driveways and sidewalks 4. Using drinking water for ornamental fountains that don’t recirculate An infraction can carry a $500 fine per day of violation.
Water Realities Even here in the U.S. we have water shortages California Georgia Nebraska (Many of the Plains States) Texas The Great Lakes Basin States in recognition of this formed the Great Lakes Compact. The agreements also ban Great Lakes water from being "diverted," or piped out of the basin with a few limited and strictly regulated exceptions
