Genre Match Identifying Different Genres of Reading/Writing Primary Reading/Writing CCS LA 1/2.W.3 Write narratives in which they recount two or more appropriately sequenced events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure. CCS R 1.RL.5 Explain major differences between books that tell stories and books that give information. CCS R 2.RL.5 Describe overall structure of a story. Complete a focus lesson with students, using the anchor charts, before using this activity in stations. Make connections between reading and writing. Practice identifying different types of literature using books and stories that you have read so far this year.
