Science Class Policies and Procedures

Warm-Ups –Complete every day at the beginning of the day –Should go in the first section of your notebook –Date each entry –Skip one line between each entry –Can put more than one entry on each page if there’s room –Write on the front and back of your paper

Notes Go in the second section of your notebook Title and date each page Include title, date and page number of each entry on Table of Contents page at the beginning of the notes section Write new entries on the next clean page in your notes section – Do not skip pages!

Notes, Continued All entries will be listed on the “Notebook Entries” board by the door Every 2-3 weeks there will be a notebook check to make sure all entries are in your notebook and are complete. Notebook checks count as a class work grade.

Graded Work Graded work will be returned once everyone has completed it. Work should be taken home for parents to review, then placed in your notebook in the last section. It is very important to keep up with graded work as we will be reviewing all material throughout the year.

What If I’m Absent? 1.Check my website on the “What’s Going on in Science” page for a description of what we did in class. 2.Check the “While You Were Out” board for any handouts that are not found on the website. 3.Check the “Notebook Entries” board for a list of any notes or activities that you missed. 4.See Mrs. Stancil before or after school or at lunch if you have questions AFTER you have completed 1-3.
