Meteorology:  Tropical Rainforests are very wet. The total rainfall per year is around 79 to 98 in.  It rains everyday usually.  The temperature during the day is around 86 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.  At night the temperature drops to around 68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit.  There isn’t much difference in temperature throughout the year  rest/climate.htm rest/climate.htm

Geography  Tropical rainforests are found in locations that get large amounts of rain  rainforests are know for there life forms such as numerous amounts of trees, plants such as ferns, and an abundance amount of insects, spiders snakes, monkeys, and other plants and animals  they are important to the health of the planet, and they are responsible for replenishing an enormous portion of the atmosphere’s oxygen supply

Plants/ coconut tree   Tropical rainforests have 160,000 of the estimated 250,000 species of plants on earth  m m Coconut tree - they grow to feet tall - the smallest coconut tree is a dwarf palm - coconut tree leaves are feet long - they grow in rainforests and other tropical areas - one tree can produce 50 coconuts

Strangler Fig Stranger Figs  they can be found in every major rainforest, tropical continent, and islands  FIGS ARE CONSIDEREDA KEYSTONE SPEICES BECAUSE THEY ARE SO IMPORTANT TO THE ANIMALS OF THE RAINFOREST  FIGS BEAR FRUIT SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR. DIFFERENT SPECIES OF FIGS FRUIT AT DIFFERENT TIMES SO THAT THERE IS ALWAYS A SUPPLY OF FOOD FOR ANIMALS THAT DEPEND ON FRUIT AS A MAJOR PART OF THE DIET

Animal life  There is estimated over 50 million species of insects alone in the tropical rainforests  Because there are so many species of animals… there is always competition for food, sunlight and space  some animals have adapted to their environment so well that they are specialized. Such as toucans that eat nuts because their beak has adapted  a four square foot mile patch of rainforest contains as many as 1500 species of flower plants, 750 species of trees, 125 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, 100 species of reptiles, 60 species of amphibians, and 150 species of butterfly.
