Why People Join Scouting World’s premier character building movement. Scouting has a track record - Since 1910 and growing strong. Building today’s youth to be tomorrow’s leaders. Your son is about to join the world’s premier character building movement. He joins to have fun. You want him to grow up to be the best kind of citizen he can be. Working together we’ll make both happen – fun and character building. You might be interested in knowing that boys in Cub Scouting, on the average, do better in school than those boys who are not involved in Cub Scouting. Northern Star Council BSA

Den Meetings Pack Meetings Special Activities Many of you are beginning to ask, “Well, just how does Cub Scouting work?” Dens - Boys are placed in dens according to grade levels. Dens are typically made up of two leaders and 5 to 8 boys. Den meetings vary from weekly or two to three times a month. They are typically an hour in length. Packs – Once a month all the dens come together for a pack meeting to recognize the boys for their achievements and let dens show off what they did during the month. Pack meetings are family activities. Special activities may include holiday parties, pinewood derby races, day camp and resident camp to name just a few. Northern Star Council BSA
