4 Changes to Lifetime Certification For those currently certified individuals who have been continuously certified for a period of at least 20 years, OR who reach the age of 60 during their recertification period, a new NCMA Lifetime Certification is now available. –Applicants for Lifetime Certification based on age alone must submit verification of age in addition to their application and application processing fee. Once awarded Lifetime Certification, the designee is no longer required to meet the five-year recertification requirements. – This improvement allows those who maintain their certification over a 20-year period to apply for Lifetime Certification regardless of age. 5 Changes to Certification Exams Beginning with testing in January 2011, the Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) and Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) exams will be expanded from the current 110-question format to 150 questions. Candidates who currently have an approved CFCM application on file and who want to take the 110-question exam must do so no later than the month of December Time limits for the 150 question exams will be extended to four hours –Beginning in January 2011, only the 150-question version will be available.
6 Changes to CCCM Certification Exam Candidates who currently have an approved CCCM application on file or who intend to apply for the CCCM are encouraged to postpone testing until the new and improved exam is available in January. CCCM candidates whose eligibility to test expires before January may have their eligibility extended for up to six months at no cost upon written request to – CCCM candidates have the option of taking the 110-question exam through December 2010; however, the NCMA Certification Department advises that most candidates will benefit by taking the new exam beginning in January. –The new exam will be based on the material in the current Commercial Knowledge Module Preparatory Study Manual and will be supplemented by material in the Uniform Commercial Code in a Nutshell, by Bradford Stone. –There will also be an all-new practice CCCM exam available by January 2011.

The guide features valuable information concerning all five competency areas covered on the CPCM exam, including contract principles, acquisition planning/strategy, contract administration, specialized knowledge, and general business. The guide includes sample test questions, answers, and explanations for each competency area, as well as recommended readings. –This new tool is indispensable for CPCM candidates seeking to make the best use of their time in preparing for the exam. 8 New CPCM Practice Exams Available! Four All New CPCM Practices Exams Added –Contract Principles –Acquisition Planning/Strategy –Contract Administration –Specialized Knowledge Areas The addition of these four new practice exams to the existing General Business practice exam means CPCM candidates may now pre-test on any or all five of the competencies covered on the CPCM exam. Exam fee ($50 members/$90) non-members is in ADDITION to the application fee but in lieu of the $95 fee for on-line testing. –CPCM and CFCM Review Classes offered on December 8, 2010 Price for conference attendees $295 member/$345 non-member Price for all others $345 member/$395 non-member Earn 7 CPE and receive complimentary copies of the Guide to the Contract Management Body of Knowledge 2 nd Edition and the Desktop Guide to Basic Contracting Terms You do NOT need to attend the review classes to be able to take the exam.
