California QSO Party 2014 The premier state QSO Party and International contest, where you are the DX!

Agenda CQP 2014 preparation.. Where we are right now Lets take a look at some of the numbers The Rules - Remote CQP defined… County registration status Marketing and public relations status and strategy Information Technology – Log retrieval Awards plan, plaque sponsorship, wine distribution Meet the CQP volunteer team– more are needed! Step up and help a great contest! Lets get on the air and have fun doing it!

State of CQP where we are at Very successful run last year but a slight reduction in logs received. We need to try and boost the numbers Same rules, clarification on remote contesting. County registration has some gaps – can you help? CQP submission software undergoing much needed revision for 2014 The CQP banner ad has returned to QST thanks K6MM! Additional marketing underway as well

Some of the numbers - a recap LOGS = QSOs!

More on numbers Just over 800 logs received in Slightly below 2012 but significantly lower than our 2011 peak Improved log retrieval system – (NS6T) Will be checking for un received logs (AD6E and WX5S) CQP ad has returned.. Along with other marketing Non competitive W1AW/6 giving qso’s to the masses..(team W6YX) 30 New records set in 2013 including M/M(W6YX) and club (MLDXCC)

Da rules - New for 2014 – Remote CQP defined Common sense approach Bottom line. You are where your RF transceiver/antennas are. From Remote Operated Stations CQP Allows the use of remotely operated stations. An entrant's remote station location is determined by the physical location of the transmitters, receivers, and antennas. A remote station must obey all station and category limitations stated in the rules.

Da Rules – Remember last years major change! CCE entrants must wait until 1 week prior to the starting bell to set up their stations. Storing station components on site at a potential CCE location is not in the spirit of this contest nor does it foster good and fair sportsmanship. Lets keep it clean, and fair.

County registration Status N6TV continues managing CQP county registration. This can be a challenging task. We need people to get energized and excited about contesting and activate counties Lets take a look.. At the contest start in 2013 our county activation status was as follows

County registration Status All counties …

County Registration Status as of yesterday

County registration Status County activations are needed! We still have time Great opportunity to have some fun -big pile ups.. Contest-pedition style! Great opportunity for Rover operations Make a plan and co-ordinate with N6TV asap!

Marketing and PR status Working with the BOD and QST, the infamous K6MM CQP had as returned to the pages of QST! We continue with efforts to reach out to Amateur radio clubs globally in an effort to increase State, National and DX participation Like us on Facebook! CQP’s facebook page is starting to pick up momentum.. Thanks to WK6I for setup! bottom line we try our best to get the word out world wide.

IT - New log submission system Expect a new interface this year System solves problems and sets stage for new adjudication system in the near future Special thanks to NS6T for developing this web application and its underlying engine K6MM working the interface simultaneously

New log retrieval interface

Awards, Plaques, Sponsors, Wine CQP continues one of the finest award programs in Amateur Radio.. You can actually win stuff! Awards will remain the same as last year. Special effort to get plaques ordered and in fast Thanks to WK6I and his Twisted Oak Winery for providing and now distributing CQP wine! Sponsors should get their contributions in to the NCCC treasurer as soon as possible. T-shirt color for 2014 will be Yellow…
