Telling a story with items you need to remember.

Visual learners Need to see written information, notes, diagrams and pictures. Characteristics: Visual learners will take notes even when they have printed notes. Visual learners often pay close attention to detail and the environment.

Verbal learners Will sit back and listen. Characteristics: Verbal learners can remember a lot of details of a conversations or class. They are good explaining their ideas. Verbal learners may find learning a foreign language easier than other students. Verbal learners often have musical talents.

Kinaesthetic learners Prefer to be involved in an activity. Characteristics: 1. Kinaesthetic learners often tap their feet, or move their legs when they sit. 2. Kinaesthetic learners often do well as performers, athletes etc.

 Put a heading and a date on your notes.  Omit descriptions and full explanations.  Take accurate notes (use your own words).

 Use abbreviations.  Use drawings or charts  Copy down off the board.

The gap between the rate of speech and your rate of thought. Try to forget about what is happening outside the room. Avoid emotional involvement

 Maintain eye contact with the teacher.  Focus on content, not delivery.  Eliminate or Ignore distractions.  Read material before class (information must be heard 3 times).  Meet the Challenge.  Ask questions.

 I went to Australia last winter and bought a travel book about Russia for my aunt Louise. She gave it to her friend Sophie who has 3 dogs and 2 rabbits. Sophie travelled to Africa and bought a hat, a necklace and a CD about wild animals who live in South America and Asia 5 of which are mammals.

 Define the Task  Mix it up and set a time limit.  Take Breaks and reward yourself  Emotional and Physical State  Study at the same time and best time for you.

 Create a work atmosphere.  Remove all distractions.  Avoid music and noise.

Weekly schedule:  Be realistic.  Enter all of your fixed obligations.  Work out your most effective study times.  Block in some study times, preferably 2-4 hours at a time.  Try for a balance between study, work, and recreation.
