Warm Up You will be given a short biography to read and analyze on the life of Julius Caesar. Upon completion of the reading, You will have to answer the following: 1. List as many adjectives (describing words) that you can think of describing Caesar and his life. 2. What leadership qualities did Caesar possess? 3. If you were to come up with two quiz questions based on this reading, what might they be?

Objective- SWBAT understand how Julius Caesar rose to power in Ancient Rome

After Sulla left office, different Roman leaders fought among themselves for power. Many of them were military official who relied on their loyal armies to support them. Why would military officials be the ones trying to declare their power? (Turn and Talk)

In 60 B.C. three men ruled the Roman Republic, Crassus, Pompey and Julius Caesar. Crassus was a general and one of Rome’s wealthiest men, while Pompey and Caesar were known for their military accomplishments
