TOK Feedback Maps & Knowledge Y

Key Themes in our knowledge of place and space. We all centred Europe & Africa on our maps. Traditionalists. Continents are generally in the right place Europe & North America is well represented and accurate Africa is not (Mandela & Mugabe are common themes liked to study) The further East & West you go, the more errors are found in countr shapes and spatial distribution. Many connection links refer to colonisation and MEDC inventions. Remote Geography generally refers to well known landmarks e.g. Everest & Rocky Mountains Maps represent experiences e.g. UK, Spain and Brazil drawn well but also bigger than they actually are….. More important??

To think about… Is there a pattern between our knowledge of earth and global interaction flows? Is there a pattern between our knowledge of earth and global interaction flows? To what extent does our knowledge represent core and periphery connectivity? To what extent does our knowledge represent core and periphery connectivity? How can we hope to bring the peripheries in from the cold? How can we hope to bring the peripheries in from the cold?
