What’s the Big Deal? A plate is a plate, is a plate!!

Your Description Goes Here The All American Food Culture BIG “ BIG portions are good”. BIG BIGGER “If BIG is good then BIGGER is even better!” Do you know how much you are really eating?

Your Description Goes Here The Way Things Used to Be In the past people ate things like:   Scrambled eggs and bacon   Baked ham and mashed potatoes   Green bean casserole and dinner rolls with butter   And they had dessert too! They “cleaned” their plate and then they were done. Most people who grew up before the 60’s have already been on a diet. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner! It was called: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!

Your Description Goes Here BIGGER is Better-Right? Things have certainly changed since the 60’s! BIGGER Over the past years everything in America has gotten BIGGER!! Cars grew to station wagons… then vans…now two-ton SUV’s Homes have grown to MCMANSIONS Televisions have gone from 27 inches to whatever it takes to fill the wall. Things just keep growing in America!

Your Description Goes Here Bigger is just BIGGER Our plates have become platters! No wonder America is overweight! The American plate has grown from 9 inches to 12 inches and it is still growing. The bigger the plate the more it takes to fill it. After all, who wants a half empty plate! YEARPLATE SIZECALORIES INCHES INCHES INCHES INCHES INCHES INCHES RESTAURANT PLATTER“PILED HIGH”

Your Description Goes Here Size Matters By now you are probably thinking this is nuts. size Who cares what size the plate is? all I don’t have to eat it all! A plate is a plate is a plate…… DO It turns out that most people DO eat it all! NO Saying “NO” to food is a very hard thing to do!

Your Description Goes Here BIGGER Plates Mean More Calories The larger the plate, the more calories consumed. More calories consumed means more weight gained! Americans have been taught to clean their plates! The problem is you don’t even know you are eating CLEANING more because you are simply “CLEANING” your plate.

It’s a Mind Game SMALLER Use a SMALLER plate Fill it up (within reason) Eat everything on your plate “Clean” “Clean” only one plate Lose a pound or two Without even trying! If you have a large plate with very little on it, your mind says, “I need more food”. If you have a small plate but it is full, your mind says “That’s Plenty”.

I Get It! Size does matter!
