19 naturally ventilated buildings 19 naturally ventilated buildings The monitoring campaigns The monitoring campaigns The monitoring results The monitoring results Select a building... Select a building... Objectives of WP 2 Objectives of WP 2 The NatVent Buildings The NatVent Buildings JOULE Final conclusions Final conclusions Final Conclusions (1...) There were 8 key findings from the 19 building monitoring programme: 1. The challenge is to provide comfortable conditions within an energy efficient building. 2. It is essential to understand what natural ventilation actually is. 3. Ventilation for IAQ should optimise both IAQ and energy efficiency 4. The required air flow rates for summer comfort are much higher than for IAQ control and the thermal mass of the building must be accessible 1. Final Conclusions (2|) 5. Achieving comfortable conditions in the summer requires more than just high ventilation rates 6. Successful design involves more than simply estimating air flow rates 7.The creation of an attractive environment for innovation is extremely important 8.Natural ventilation can be an attractive option, but NOT the only option You can find more information in the Final Monitoring Report (final_monitor_rep.pdf) in the directory \Reports\Monitoring 5.
