What is the biome a basic definition? Tundra- A vast, mostly flat, treeless Artic region of Europe, Asia, and North America in which the subsoil is permanently frozen. The dominant vegetation is low-growing lichens, mosses, and stunted shrubs.

Where is the biome located on Earth? Artic region of Europe, Asia, and North America.

What is the average monthly temperature? The short summer lasts only 6 to 10 weeks. It never gets warmer than 45 or 50 degrees F˚ Winter temperature don’t reach above 20 degrees and average -20 to -30 (Endless hours of darkness settle in and the winds blow even harder)

What is the average yearly and monthly rainfall/snowfall? Precipitation totals 6-10 inches of rain a year, which includes melted snow.

What types of vegetation lives there? The dominant vegetation is low-growing lichens, mosses, and stunted shrubs.

What types of animals live there? Some animals that live in the Tundra are, Polar Bear, Caribou, Artic Fox, Snow Owl, and Musk Ox…
