Proposal #3 To cap the number of pre-matriculation credits students may bring into Tufts at five (5). To restrict the award of college credit for AP tests to scores of 5. ► The assignment of course credit for AP test scores should be controlled by the subject- area Department. ► The current pre-matriculation credit policy has no cap. The proposed maximum of five (5) credits is arbitrary. ► Engineering students must complete more courses (38 vs. 34) within a strictly defined curriculum. ► Due to the multi-track (i.e., sciences, math, engineering science), sequential nature of the engineering curricula, few students complete degree requirements early.
