2 Why does the CMBG exist? äTo provide an open forum to share CM information with our peers. äTo function as the nuclear industry Community of Practice.

3 How CMBG was started äFirst Nuclear Configuration Management Benchmarking conference hosted by PPL in Fall 1994 in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. ä17 US utilities represented

4 How CMBG was started äEach utility made a presentation about their Configuration Management program äNo motivational speeches äNo sales promotions by service providers

5 The CMBG Idea Grows Second conference hosted by Ontario Hydro in 1995 Drafted plans for continuing organization - approved in 1996 ä Name: Configuration Management Benchmarking Group ä Formed Steering Committee ä Wrote Mission Statement ä Defined ground rules for holding future conferences

6 CMBG Mission “Provide a forum for the exchange of information useful to practitioners of nuclear facility configuration management.”
