My task is: to study biography of Abraham Lincoln improve my English skills

Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in the state of Kentucky in the family of a poor farmer.

Since childhood, Abraham used to work, helping parents to cultivate the land, hunting and gathering wild berries.

Lincoln achieved everything in his life by own efforts Lincoln achieved everything in his life by own efforts. Starting at age 21 independent life, he tried many professions. He worked as a surveyor, a storekeeper, a lumberjack, a postal employee, even at war with the Indians.

On Nov. 4, 1842, after a somewhat tumultuous courtship, Lincoln had married Mary Todd. They had 4 children.

The first steps in the policy Lincoln made in 1834, when he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Illinois, having great political school here, having won respect among colleagues. In 1836, Lincoln passed a difficult test and got a right to their own law practice.

The next step in the political career of Abraham Lincoln was his election to the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress in 1847, working in Congress provides an opportunity to claim a place in the government.

When in 1849 his term in the House of Representatives has expired, he did not even try to put back his candidacy. Returning home from Congress to Springfield marked the onset of the worst periods in Lincoln's life: he lost his political popularity, his law practice has decreased significantly, there were large debts.

A failed test of strength in Congress did not make the Lincoln abandon political activity. He was not going to limit himself working lawyer and joined formed February 25, 1854 the Republican Party.

Abraham Lincoln was opposed to slavery Abraham Lincoln was opposed to slavery. 18- year-old boy visited Lincoln in New Orleans, this major center of the slave South. He was shocked by the fact that the urban market people are selling like animals.

Lincoln believed that the preservation of the Union is more important than all other issues. Lincoln was confident in the possibility of a peaceful solution to the dispute between the North and the South.

At the end of the 50s.in the19 century it was a turning point in the life of Abraham Lincoln. By actively participating in the political debate, he became widely known in the country.

Speaking in different parts of the country, Lincoln emerged as a smart and cautious politician. He did not support the demand for the abolition of slavery, and sought in every way to prevent civil war.

At a meeting of the Republican Party in Chicago Lincoln was nominated for president and in Nov. 6, 1860 he became president of the United States.

The Civil War began between the North and the South The Civil War began between the North and the South. There were 75 thousand volunteers in the North Army.

Lincoln began restoring order to the government Lincoln began restoring order to the government. His kindness, fairness to opponents, poise, humor and generosity helped to create good working government, consisting of both supporters of the liberation of the slaves, and of those who are inclined toward reconciliation with the slave owners.

Lincoln signed the famous Emancipation Proclamation in January1, 1863 and black slaves became free. The proclamation, however, only freed slaves rebel states.

When the Civil War was rolling swiftly to an end and the victory of the North was evident at the initiative of Lincoln adopted the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, permanently ban slavery.

Five days after the end of the war, the day of Good Friday, April 14, 1865, at the play "My American Cousin" (in Ford's Theatre), a supporter of Confederate actor John Wilkes Booth entered the presidential box and shot Lincoln in the head. The following morning without regaining consciousness, Abraham Lincoln died.
