EquipCalc Demonstration Developed for Vander Kooi & Associates, Inc.

EquipCalc is An Equipment Chargeback Calculator. EquipCalc will determine the $/hour cost for vehicles & equipment that a company needs to charge in order to recover the overall cost of the equipment. The method of calculation is commensurate with the Vander Kooi Multiple Overhead Recovery Methods.

EquipCalc considers the following factors to determine the recovery cost: Cost of the equipment The replacement inflation factor Financing of the equipment Years of service Annual utilization Maintenance costs Fuel cost Insurance Taxes Licensing and tags Salvage value

When EquipCalc is started you have a choice of initializing a blank database for your equipment –or- looking at a sample database to see how the program works.

When you click the START button, The main Worksheet is displayed. This is an example for the Sample Database When adding a new piece of equipment, the required data elements will appear in the yellow boxes. There is an Instructions button on each form that will tell you what to do.

After all the required data is entered, click the ‘Calculate’ button to determine the Total Cost.

EquipCalc can locate a piece of equipment quickly. If you have a lot of equipment, a specific item can be quickly located for reference or editing.

EquipCalc will list all of the equipment in your database. Click on the item in the list and then click the ‘Locate (item)’ button. This will position the database to that item and display the data. The list can be ordered in two ways.

EquipCalc also produces a summary cost for all the equipment in your inventory. To access the summary, click on this button.

EquipCalc summarizes all the equipment categories operating costs. If you have actual equipment expense data available, you can record the information in EquipCalc.

EquipCalc can capture actual expenses from your business records.

EquipCalc also displays a handy summary of the equipment utilization and charge amount. This button accesses the equipment summary

EquipCalc summarizes all the equipment in your database showing the utilization, cost/hr and cost/yr. This data can be printed in report form for reference and estimate costing.
