Skyward Construction

 This resort will have 5 floors of pure luxury. Roughly 80 rooms in all with 20 rooms on the each floor above ground level.  Amenities will include a sports bar, heated pool, 18 hole golf course, game room, and 24/7 Room Service.  Each room has two beds, large television, miniature fridge with a reasonable kitchen, and a great view of the coast.

 We chose the Lumber River Basin because we felt the beaches of this basin are some of the most beautiful in North Carolina. The chosen area is also set in a thriving tourist destination.

 People will come stay with us while viewing this scenic destination.  When you are not enjoying the pool and the beaches, you can explore the quaint town of Southport, North Carolina.

 Our building should not damage the local watershed much at all. Any runoff will simply flow around our buildings and into the ocean or the ground. To continue to allow infiltration into the ground, we will use a permeable paving solution known as porous asphalt. This will allow water to continue to infiltrate into the ground as it once did.

 We will minimize pollution by using environmentally friendly grounds care products and use a semi- permeable barrier to collect any eroded dirt and trash that might enter a body of water.  Note: Our fence will be much more aesthetically pleasing.

 Location: Southeast NC.  Size:3,336 square miles.  Threats: sedimentation and runoff causing poor water quality.  Threatened animals: Waccamaw Silverside, Carolina Pigmy Sunfish, Waccamaw Spike.  Major Watersheds: The Lumber and Waccamaw Rivers, headwaters of the Little Pee Dee and the Shallotte/Lockwoods Folly Rivers.  Other States: South Carolina.  Major Rivers: Waccamaw and Lumber  Tributaries: Big heel shoe creek, Waccamaw River, Shallotte River.  Streams found in Basin: Big Swamp, Juniper Creek, White Marsh.  Description: A great diversity of natural communities encompasses three distinct ecological regions in North Carolina. Contains rare wetland and aquatic dwelling species, poor water quality with narrow streams and swift waters.
