 Wilbur was born in 1867, then died in  Orville was born in 1871, then died in  They lived in Dayton, Ohio.  They were brothers, and they were known to build the first flying machine.

 They opened up a bike shop.  They built an engine for their glider.

 Wilbur died before Orville.  They opened a bicycle shop.  Then they built their first glider.  Then they built an engine for their glider.  They made their first power flight on December 17 in 1903.

 Glider flew for the first time  It was a successful flight!

-Orville made the world’s first powered flight. -He made it at Kitty Hawk.

 The Wright brothers built the flyer 3  They went to France.

 They were very DETERMINED because they never gave up.  They were HELPFUL because they made a faster form of transportation for people.

“It is possible to fly without motors, but not without knowledge and skill.” Wilbur Wright This means that you need to use your brain to do things. “Isn't it astonishing that all these secrets have been preserved for so many years just so we could discover them!” Orville Wright This means that people could have flown many years ago if they had just thought of it!  “Darned if they ain’t flew!”  Said by a witness to the flight on December 17, 1903
