ORIGINAL SÁMI HANDICRAFTS

I am Tea Titola, designer and maker of original sámi handicrafts

Sámi Duodji badge is your guarantee for genuine sámi handicraft and design. It builds upon the experience of generations.

Here you see some handicrafts that I have made.

Reindeer leather bracelet, decorated with skolt sámi beadwork.

Beadwork is special decoration style of skolt (eastern) sámi people

BELTS

Traditional reindeer leather is made at home. Colour and natural preservative comes from bark of willow.

The idea of this bag is the contrast of dark and white reindeer fur

Materials come from nature: reindeer and fish leather.

Salmon leather products decorated with backbone “beads” of whitefish

REINDEER BOOTS

Only the best material is good enough for reindeer boots

All four legs of reindeer are needed to make a pair of boots

JIEKIÖ is a special tool for scraping leather

Using the ”jiekiö”

After the scraping, cutting the pieces, sewing them together and decorating, the boots (shoes) are ready.

Reindeer boots (shoes) are very warm in winter

NECKLESSES

SÁMI BANDS, this time as key holders

Caps of skolt sámi ladies show their marital status

Wife´s cap is decorated with lots of beads

By purchasing original sámi handicrafts, you support the continuity of rich sámi culture and tradition.
