Taking steps to make sure that something does not happen Examples – wearing a seat belt, eating healthy, exercising, not going to a party if you know there will be drugs or alcohol there…. Refusing to participate in unsafe behaviors or activities What things do you think teens should abstain from? WHY????

The result of your actions Physical Consequences could include injury or death Mental/Emotional Consequences could include feeling guilty or angry with yourself. Social Consequences could include missing out on activities or getting grounded Academic Consequences-low average or failing, time in the TOR, suspension Financial Consequences – pay a fine or pay for something you took or broke Legal Consequences- taken home by police, get arrested, put on probation
