Sound engineer A sound engineer is technician who operates and maintains the machines and equipment when recording and broadcasting music, sound effects, film audio, live events and video productions. He works in the entertainment industry and is a pivotal part of the process of creating state of the art radio shows, audio projects, video and live projects.

Sound engineers work with.. Audio engineers work in the recording studio. They also must work with singers, arrangers, musicians, record producers, artists management and everyone else, to try and create the best sound possible. They’ve also very likely had to mic the drum kit, plug the guitar, bass and keyboards into the soundboard and organize the background vocalists.

To further explain Sound engineers have professional recording sessions for major artists involving a producer and an engineer working together. Sound engineers don't have to work strictly in music. Some engineers end up doing sound at conferences, for speeches and any other venue that requires projection of sound for an audience. Audio engineers often work with artists for weeks before a recording begins. Setting up equipment, arriving at good studio sound for voices and instruments, helping musicians and singers feel comfortable in the studio, are all things that must be done prior to actually starting a recording session.
