APES 10/6 AND 10/7 Please put your math packet by the fume hood for check-off Please find a pencil

MATH AND SCIENCE CONCEPTS TEST  20 MC and 8 math problems  No calculators!  Turn in by the blue file cabinet and work on the Mono Lake Assignment until everyone is done.  Page 64 and 65 in book  Read, take notes  Do questions 1-3 and Free Response Question (HW section of lab book)

 EcoColumns Day One! Put yourself into a new group of 3 and sit together (must be at least one person not already at your table) Log in to a netbook and find the EcoColumn Directions on my website

ECOCOLUMNS DAY ONE  Take the labels completely off of your bottles  Wash/dry them  Cut them with a razor blade and nest them like in the picture (see ecocolumns directions on my website)  Heat up a dissecting needle and poke holes in your bottle caps  Make “sprinkler”  Fill top chamber with soil and gravel and test drainage  Fill middle chamber with sand and gravel and test drainage  Cut flaps in bottom (aquatic) chamber  One final drainage test  Label with names and class period

FUTURE ADDITIONS AND TESTING  Additions  Seeds  Terrestrial bugs  Aquatic plants  Fish!  Testing  Nitrates, Phosphates, Potassium  Dissolved oxygen  pH  Temperature  Plant Size

SCOPE OF PROJECT  3 month project!!!! (Unless it all dies.)  You will make weekly measurements as a group, and keep them organized in a google sheet that is shared with me.  You will do journal writes related to your ecocolumn and similar, large ecosystems throughout the unit individually.  You will complete a reflection at the end individually.
