King Henry VIII He created the Church of England. Separated England from the Roman Catholic Church because he wanted a divorce.

Martin Luther Nailed the Ninety-Five Theses onto the Wittenberg Church door. The Ninety-Five Theses protests abuse and indulgences performed by the clergy. Initiated the Protestant Reformation

John Calvin Created a sect of Christianity similar to Martin Luther but it included the idea of predestination. * Predestination is the idea that everybody’s fate has been predetermined by God. This sect was called Calvinism.

Hudreich Zwingli Leader in the Swiss Reformation Similar conclusions to Martin Luther about the scriptures. He insisted that the Bible was the source of Christian truth rather than the Church.

John Knox Scottish leader of the Protestant Reformation. Studied under John Calvin and brought the Protestant Reformation to Scotland.
