We forecast 9% compound annual growth in the next five years for the global tablet market.

Quarterly year-over-year growth has flatlined.

Just 50 million units shipped in the 2nd quarter for 11% year-over-year growth.

Leaders Apple and Samsung are now losing out to cheaper, “white-box” tablets.

Phablet demand is making matters worse.

About half of our respondents do not plan to buy a tablet within the next year

Most bought a tablet in 2013, yet 43% have a tablet that is two years old or more

Many bought their tablet within the last year and a half, but even many of those who have tablets from 2012 or before are still not interested in upgrading.

Our respondents are power tablet users. 80% claim they use their tablet at least once per day.

But their tablets face little wear and tear. 93% use the device only on Wi-Fi.

Unlike much of the rest of the world, most of our respondents are not very interested in phablets.

Those who do not have a tablet are put off by the high cost or simply do not find it useful.
