Journey Through The Solar System By: Christine Medicis EDU 505 Dr. Yang

Introduction Buckle up Junior explorers! We have just been given the mission to explore the 9 planets, learn about comets, and find out why astronauts have to wear space suits. Kiss your friends and family goodbye for now and lets get ready to explore our Solar System!

Your Task… if you chose to accept it.. Gather up as much information as you can about our solar system. Then you will be able to: – Pick which planet is your favorite. –Learn about comets –Find out why astronauts where space suits.

Process Once you have explored the 3 websites and gathered information about the 9 planets, chose your favorite planet and write a short 1 page paper about your planet. Please include: Distance from the sun Average temperature Number of Moons

Evaluation 1 Page reflection paper on planet of your choice: 50 pts –Only include 2 aspects of planet 30 pts –Only include 1 aspect of planet 20 pts –Included none of the required aspects 10 pts Drawing of Astronaut’s Space Suit: 40 pts Everthing is Included List of Characteristics of Comet: 10 pts Eveything is Included –Extra Credit: If you are willing to share your 1 page reflection paper, drawing of the astronaut's suit and list of characteristics of a comet you will receive 10 extra points to your total grade. –To pass this assignment you need at least 70 pts.

Conclusion At this time you are officially a solar system expert!! I hope you enjoyed your journey through the solar system!! Please wait until the computer comes to a complete stop before exiting. Join us on our next adventure to the ocean!
