MEASURES TAKEN  Same pool of doctors and nurses serves both the classes.  The series of steps, which a patient normally goes through, is the same.  Camps are organised to attract people from rural areas.

MEASURES TAKEN  They set up a factory to produce IOLs and other sutures and other items used in the surgeries.  Patients are taken to the hospital rather than performing surgery in the camps.  Help from local organisations.

MEASURES TAKEN  With 1% of the country’s ophthalmic manpower, they performs 5% of ophthalmic surgeries performed nationwide.  Valuable time of surgeons and senior doctors are used intelligently.

AREAS TO IMPROVE  Trained nurses should be appointed.  Reduce the attrition rate of doctors.
