Botswana The land of beauty By: Karim M. 8-1

Country overview The current population of Botswana is 1,640,115. The flag of Botswana is light blue with a horizontal white edged black stripe. The location of Botswana is s, e on the map, the country is bordered by Zimbabwe, south Africa and Namibia. Some of the city's in Botswana are Francistown, Ghazi and the capital city Gaborarone.

Country overview Languages that they speak are English, French, and African. The religions in Botswana is divided into two groups which are Indigenous beliefs and Christian. Some of the natural resources are diamonds, iron, silver and lots of other minerals too.

History The history of Botswana started with hunter’s missionaries arriving in Botswana in The revolution in Europe had created a need for new markets and materials. The Europeans came to Botswana and brought with them a new method of hunting, the man fire power, guns.

History Around 60,000 years ago, the people of Sub- Saharan Africa were of one tribe, probably of Khoe/ San tribe. The Bantu- speaking people gradually developed darker skin pigmentation and different physical attributes because different environments they eventually occupied.

Economy Since independence, Botswana has had the fastest growth in per capita income in the world. Economic growth averaged over 9% per year from The government of Botswana has maintained a sound fiscal policy, despite three consecutive budget deficits in and a negligible level of foreign dept.

Economy Economic development in Botswana spending was cut by 10% in 2002/3 as a policy. The fist mine began production at Orapa in 1972, followed by the smaller mines of Lethlahane and Damtshaa.

Tourist Attraction The main tourist attraction in Botswana is the 12 wild life national parks and reserves. The parks contain a large variety of African animals and has endangered animals too. Botswana has beautiful rivers too and one of these rivers comes from victory falls.
