Setting  This story takes place on an island by the Pacific ocean in the 1950’s.

Point of view  The Lord Of The Flies moves back and forth betwixt different scene and thoughts.

Main Characters  Ralph,Piggy,Simon,SamnEric,Jack.

Conflicts  The first conflict is when everybody got shot out of the sky. (man vs. man)  The second conflict is when they land on an island and nobody can help them.(man vs. nature0  The third example of conflict is when everything is out of control and the half of the group of kids sides with jack instead of Ralph.

Foreshadowing  The rolling of the boulders off the castles foreshadows piggy's death.  The out of control fire on the mountain foreshadows the entire island burning.

Symbols  The fire represents hope.  The conch represents authority.

Irony  The first example of irony is when jack says there has to be rules on the island. But later becomes the leader of the group of savages that kills Piggy.  The second example of irony is when piggy says that grown ups know things ironically they receive a grown up but ends up being a dead parachutist.

Plot summary  In the middle of a war a plane evacuating a group of boys from Britain and the plane gets shot down in a deserted island. Two boys named Ralph and Piggy, find a conch shell on the beach of the island and with that conch Ralph and Piggy try to restore order with the conch shell. Later in the story they don’t maintain order and everything is chaos. Near the end some of the boys get killed and a fire burns the island and they get rescued.

Theme  The theme of the story is if they was no rules everyone will turn into savages.
