IS FOR… Atomic is for the war going on. People don’t really care of the war. It’s been declared so many times that the people don’t seem to care.

IS FOR… Benjamin Franklin was considered the first fireman in history according to the story Fahrenheit 451.

IS FOR… Captain Beatty is the head of all the firemen. Captain Beatty tells the Mechanical Hound what to do.

IS FOR… Denham’s Dentifrice is what is advertised when Montag is on the train on his way to Faber's house.

IS FOR… The firemen in 451 try to extirpate all the books with fire. Extirpate means to wipe out and destroy totally.

IS FOR… Flamethrower is the weapon that Captain Beatty made Montag use to burn his own house.

IS FOR… Guy Montag is the main character of this story; he is also the husband of Mildred. Montag is a fireman who at first burns books and then later on tries to save them and bring them back.

IS FOR… The mechanical Hound is a tool for Captain Beatty to search for people who have books; it does this by sniffing and finding out who has books.

IS FOR… It is Ironic that firemen burn books and houses instead of saving them or trying to put out the fire.

IS FOR… Jets keep flying over the houses because the war is going on and the people don’t really care about what goes around them.

IS FOR… Kerosene is the liquid which the fireman use to set the books and houses on fire.

IS FOR… The law in the world of Fahrenheit 451 is that all sorts of books are banned, and if you have one, the firemen will come and burn it. The only book that its allowed is the rule book.

IS FOR… Mildred is Montag’s wife. Mildred is on Medication. Sometimes doctors come to the house because she overdoses herself with pills and the doctors take them out with machines.

IS FOR… Montag’s neighbor is Clarisse McClellan. She is seventeen and she is not a normal person because she has some ideas that other people don’t; she sees the world in a different way. She believes books are useful and necessary.

IS FOR… Overdose goes for Mildred because she takes pills and can’t remember if she took them. Then she overdoses and doctors come to pump her stomach.

IS FOR… Professor Faber is a man who Montag met at the park; he was hiding a book under his arm. Faber gave Montag his address just in case he wanted to talk. Faber really helped Montag realize that books were important.

IS FOR… Quality is for the quality of information the books have.

IS FOR… It’s a risk for a person to have a book or to own a book.

IS FOR… The seashell radio is one way Faber and Montag communicated about what goes on in the town especially with Captain Beatty and the books.

IS FOR… Television is known as Mildred’s family. The Montag family has 3 TV's also known as parlor walls. Mildred wants another TV because it’s not enough for her.

IS FOR… Uniform is for all the firemen that wear the same uniform when they go to work.

IS FOR… Ventilator is where Montag keeps his hidden books.

IS FOR… The women represent Mildred's friends who told Captain Beatty that Montag had books in his house. But they let it go by until Mildred called them.

IS FOR… Xerox is for Guy Montag and Faber trying to copy books and trying to memorizing them.

IS FOR… Yore is for Clarisse saying that a long time ago firemen used to put out fires instead of starting them.

IS FOR… The cars zoom very fast through the streets in Fahrenheit 451.
