Telecommunications in ITS CALM based system - DOTEK Ing. Martin Šrotýř

Agenda Multipath communication systems CALM system DOTEK Parameters Applications Architecture Usecase Implementation Summary Demonstration

Multipath communication systems

CALM ISO TC204, WG16.1 – „Communications Air-interface for Long and Medium range” Concept of complex standards identification the best available wireless access soution in given time and area CALM standards have implemented Policy- Based Management (PBM) approach. Handover in CALM is implemented on the L2 of the TCP/IP model.

DOTEK Project of the communication module for transport telematics CALM-based system with handover on L3 with available technologies Selects optimal (best) available access network according to required parameters It increases the value of important performance parameters Parameters: Actual measured parameters (latency, packet loss, SNR,…) Statistic parameters (MTBF, MTTR, availability, reliability,…) Static parameters (security level, price,…)

DOTEK Telematic applications Fleet management systems System for electronic fee collection (EFC) Vehicle systems for communication with other vehicles and infrastructure (C2X) Systems complemented satellite navigation services Systems for Emergency call (eCall) Communication technologies GSM (GPRS, EDGE), UMTS, WiMAX, WiFi, Bluetooth, MBWA, UWB, RFID, DSRC, ZigBee, IR

DOTEK Architecture Management Monitoring – SNR, latency, packet loss Decision – price vs. quality Handover – L3 instead of L2

DOTEK Summary System sucesfully passed test scenarios for verification its basic functionalities Developed software is modular and therefore can be integrated into similar systems Software is designed for IPv4 based applications Can optimize costs of using various technologies and the most important benefit of this system is in improvement of values of system parameters such as reliability, availability, security, etc.

DOTEK Practical demonstration of the DOTEK test application

Than you for attention.
