Presentation transcript:

Attention Parents & Teachers

Children these days are more worried about getting the mental stimulation from video games rather than getting the physical stimulation from physical activity.

ChildrenChildren don’t know that nibbling all the time will lead to extreme weight gain, they need help from you.

Family Ties NO SKIPPING MEALS. Children need help from family.SKIPPING

Overweight children have an increased risk of being overweight as adults

Genetics, behavior, and family environment play a role in childhood overweight.

Childhood overweight increases the risk for certain medical and psychological conditions

Encourage overweight children to be active, decrease screen time, and develop healthful eating habits.

ChildrenChildren are known to emotionally eat things like; ice cream, chocolate, cakes, and anything they can grab quickly or find easily.

VarietyVariety is better, be sure to introduce the child to a wide range of foods early in their life.

PortionPortion size. Try knowing how much the child actually needs. Do not over provide!

Do not reward with food because that would not help their eating at all. Maybe give them a trip somewhere or more time with an activity.reward

Home cooked meals are being quickly forgotten about because of the rise in fast food.

Fast food is low in nutrition and high in calories which are never a good thing.

The parent should also be incorporating fitness into their child’s life. The more the child is active the better he or she will feel.parent
