Presentation transcript:

OPEN ACCESS NIGERIA This is the Nigerian arm of the Right to Research Coalition (R2RC). Our bedrock is to promote research among students in Nigeria and encourage them to make it open access.

Organize workshops on how to carry out research, writing manuscripts and research publishing Organize trainings on Awareness campaigns and advocacy for Open Access Provide information about access to grants to conduct research Provide information about opportunities to present at international conferences with travel grants WHAT WE DO :

World Aids Congress: Travel grants available

S Society for endocrinology : free membership for students plus travel grants

Next Conference is in Makurdi full and partial sponsorships available

Open Access (OA) is the free, immediate, unrestricted availability of high-quality, peer-reviewed scholarly articles over the Internet combined with the rights to use this information to its fullest possible extent.

Pay walls and price barriers have prevented students, teachers and researchers from getting access to research they need.

As students, we are gradually losing already limited access to core academic research – research essential to a complete education.

Open Access is an alternative publishing and distribution model that makes scholarly research literature - most of which is already funded by taxpayers around the world - freely available to the public online, without restrictions.

BE A PART OF THE OPEN ACCESS TEAM Join the Open Access Coalition, visit and join as a student. Create awareness among your colleagues, educate them and begin advocacy groups. Submit your work only to open-access journals. (
