Analysis of performance In this Analysis we will be concentrating on football.

Analysis of performance football Rules of football Football has rules like offside this means if the opposition is between the last defender and the goalkeeper this would be awarded offside. Hand ball this rule is if the player handballs the ball the other team are rewarded with a free kick or in the box penalty. There has to be eleven players on the pitch from both. If the ball goes out side of the white line would be a throwing or corner depending on were it is.

Elite Technique-side foot pass. Body position- body Is front on, Your arms are facing forward, your body should be forward and aiming. Head position- Your head position should be faced forward. Your head should also be over the ball so that the ball stays on the floor. Arm position- Arms should be down the side of your body so that it keeps your body balanced. Passing foot position-Make sure that you kick the ball in the centre so that it keeps the ball on the floor using the side of your foot. Non striking leg position-Position your leg at the side of the ball so that it keeps your body balanced.

Foundation Performer technique-side foot pass. Body position-Arms are down the side of your body in different directions to your shoulders this could lead to a poor pass Also with your body facing forward. Head position-Your head will be up and over the ball which could make the ball go in the air making it hard to control. Arm position- Down behind your body leaving you unbalanced this could leave a inaccurate pass. Passing position-Make sure that you kick the ball in the center so that it keeps the ball on the floor using the side of your foot. Non striking leg position- Your leg should be at the side of the ball they would be leaning back.

Comparing Elite to foundation. B C The difference between the foundation player and the elite player are circled above in these pictures e.g. The elite players head is up and looking towards the player he is about to make the pass to were as the foundation player is looking down and has to keep his eyes on the ball.

Improvement practice In this the players get into a pair and stand 15 yards away with a cone in the middle and complete a pass to the other player without hitting the cone. Also the two players only have two touches one for the touch and the other to pass back. To increase the challenge of the drill you could form a triangle and pass the ball straight forward then follow your pass so then the next player makes his pass and follows it and repeat this for 5 minutes using only two touches. Also if you want to make the drill even harder then split in to pairs and one person stands on the edge while the other person runs round looking for the pass of different people around the box from different angles.
