Robots Garrick White

Definition A robot should be able to read a situation and respond accordingly, should be able to so more efficiently than a human in a way that mimics intelligent life in its movements and actions.

Tasks Space rovers Assembly lines (mechanical arms) Moving hazardous materials Cleaning robots Cutting robots

Robots cut faster and more accurately Produced by Panasonic and Motoman Robot because it is automated and looks like an arm Plasma Cutting

Mars Rovers Used by NASA to explore/research Mars Robots because most actions are automated and mimics human actions like grabbing and seeing

Production Most are produced by Fanuc They are found in many factories and can be used to produce a number of things such as cars 6 degrees of freedom Robots because of their mimicking of human movements.

Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity Drives and navigates automatically Powered by solar panels Picks up and scans rocks Has camera “eyes” Mission cost- 820 million 185 kg
