Transition Technical Assistance Network Executive Order 13-04/15-01 YTP statewide

Purpose: To increase knowledge of training and support available to schools to support transition  Objectives: - Executive Order – and Overview and how it relates to education - Memorandum of Understanding – VR/ODDS/OCDD/VR - Trainings provided Educator Institute on Networking and Transition - Development of Transition Technical Assistance Network - Meet your Transition Network Facilitator

DHS (VR and ODDS) and ODE shall work:  “…to further improve Oregon’s systems of designing and delivering employment services to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities …”  Work “toward fulfillment of Oregon’s Employment First Policy,” including  Reduced state support of sheltered work over time  Increased investment in employment services 3 Executive Order 13-04/15-01

 Appoint staff to focus on system-change in schools and communities- Secondary Transition Liaison – Educator Institute on Networking and Transition  Establish Statewide Transition Technical Assistance Network to assist transition services in schools  Support legislative or rule changes to prohibit local education agencies from contracting for assessments in sheltered workshops- Employment Related Transition Services – OAR / OAR In Partnership, ODE will:

Transition Technical Assistance Network 2014  8 Part time Staff contracted by ESDs -Provide Training and Technical Assistance to support Exec. Order /15-01, Transition MOU, and Employment First

 Help School district recognize and understand the outcomes of Executive Order, specifically focusing on successful transition to employment and/or education.  Establish relationships with community partners such as Vocational Rehabilitation, Developmental Disabilities, County Mental Health, family advocacy programs, etc.  Implement training and professional development for educators on policy and systems change. Goals of the Transition Technical Assistance Network
