Noise 4 That was the sound of a lion! Don’t worry, you cant find any of these in the English countryside!

Dangerous? Look at these pictures of animals that can be found in the English countryside and decide which are dangerous.

Dangerous?

So which did you decide were dangerous and why?

Dangerous? The answers is… They can all be dangerous!

Dangerous? If not treated properly all animals can be dangerous, this counts for pets and wild animals. But there are a few simple rules which can help you stay safe around animals.

Dangerous? 1. Don't approach animals when they are eating, sleeping or with their babies.

Dangerous? 2. Look for the warning signs – if an animal is hissing or growling then do not approach it.

Dangerous? 3. Always ask an adult who knows the animal before you approach it.

Dangerous? 4. Always approach farm animals from the front. Do not make lots of noise or sudden movements. When walking through a field with animals in it walk slowly and quietly making sure to keep dogs under close control.

Dangerous? 5. If an animal looks sick or hurt then don’t approach them as they may get easily upset.

Dangerous? 6. Only feed animals if you are asked to by a farmer and follow their instructions closely.

Dangerous? 7. Always wash your hands after touching an animal as they can carry germs.

True or false? 1.Animals like to be stroked when they are ill. 2.Animals do not like to be approached when they are with their babies. 3.All animals can be dangerous if not treated carefully. 4.Farm animals like lots of noise. 5. You should never approach an animal if it is growling or hissing.
