Communist Government Based on an ideology that wants to provide for needs and ensure peace. Has been seen as cruel at times to its people. A system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party

The Cultural Revolution  A political program by Mao that was designed to create a culture based on Communist ideas.  Art, books, temples, and anything seen as anti-Communist was destroyed.  Anyone who disagreed with Mao was arrested, tortured, or even killed.  A political program by Mao that was designed to create a culture based on Communist ideas.  Art, books, temples, and anything seen as anti-Communist was destroyed.  Anyone who disagreed with Mao was arrested, tortured, or even killed.

The Three Gorges Dam  Has been called the largest project in China since the Great Wall.

 Some see it has a good source of hydroelectricity for the growing nation. They think it will help with the flooding of the Yangzi River where it is built.  There are also environmental concerns like pollution that will stay in the river instead of go to the sea.  They also worry about the surrounding areas if something were to happen to the dam.  Some see it has a good source of hydroelectricity for the growing nation.
