Last Lecture By: Abigail Adams

Introduction The Beginning Born November 11, 1744 Born in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Death Ready to go. Full-filled life. Family 5 children. Husband, John Adams.

Child Years Religious Ways Father was a pastor. Taught to respect and love God. Early Volunteering Homeless shelters. Families in need. Visiting the sick. Handing out needed materials. Mother sacrificed time and materials for other people.

Education Girls need an education My father and Grandfather taught me my education and gave me access to everything boys have access too as well. Very blessed Father sacrificed time, and exposed me to self-sacrifice very early.

Start of Politics Patriotic Sacrifice Separation of John and I, started a stream of letters that continued throughout the American Revolution. Politics Grandfather taught me about politics. I was appointed Massachusetts Colony General Court, with my good friend, Mercy Otis Warren, and the governor’s wife, Hannah Winthrop.

Women’s Rights Equal Rights I asked John to include women’s rights, I couldn’t sway him though, despite my level of determination. Worth it It was all worth it in the end when we had freedom. The feeling of being free was great.

Vice President and President John’s Position We continued to write letters to each other. Easier It was a little easier now that he was closer, but not by much. I stayed in the White House a total of 18 months, during the 2 terms he was president.

After Presidency  Bitterness  We lost the election to old friend, Thomas Jefferson.  Friended him though, after his daughter died.  Didn’t trust his political ways though.

My topic  I chose Self-Sacrifice for my last lecture topic, because it really means a lot to me, just by going back and reviewing me life, I wish I could have done more to help, self-sacrifice isn’t about feeling sorry for yourself while doing it, self-sacrifice is about living in the moment and just doing what you have to do. Thank you for your time.
