CURRENT EVENT ARTICLE “Elon Musk Donated 10M To Make Sure AI Doesn’t Go The Way Of Skynet” By: D. Etherington Musk donates this money for the benefit of humanity. The somewhat laughable statement regarding Skynet is a lighthearted joke but also contains a more serious note encompassing all of the ethical risks involved in this recent undertaking for humanity. The idea of artificial intelligence on par with humanity’s own is a very real concept and brings forth many issues ranging from the law to basic human rights to ethical guidelines regarding what should and should not be attempted 5

ADDITIONAL INTERNET ARTICLE “Softbank Will Help IBM’s Watson Learn Japanese” By: C. Shu Explores two concepts Humanities willingness to further our advancements in A.I. robotics The awe-inspiring yet terrifying knowledge that humanity has progressed to the point of building machines that can theoretically “learn” 6

OTHER SEARCH ENGINES USED WITH CRITIQUE Tech Crunch Had many articles Crashed twice Viable and intriguing article titles CNN Very helpful with the listing of articles Good information Would have been primary search engine if I seen first Yahoo Many articles Lacked relevance Lacking in search tools besides simplified options 7

TRAAP SOURCES OF CURRENT INTERNET ARTICLE Date of source proved difficult to find Certainty of creation between 2013 and 2015 based on events written about Relates to the heart of what my topic stemmed from Humans should show more effort and thought when dealing with matters of biotechnology Careless disregard in the pursuit of technology is something this world does not need more of based off of current events Author is Darrell Etherington Qualified writer with focus on early stage start-ups of technological topics CrunchBase profile linked to his name on the page Trustworthy as it is widely archived material that can be found on most, if not all, media servers 8

COMPARISON OF INTERNET AND JOURNAL ARTICLE Internet Article- “Artificial Intelligence in Psychological Practice: Current and Future Applications and Implications” Relatively easy to access, present at top of search list Displayed the proper information and was sufficiently organized Authoritatively written by Professional Psychology: Research And Practice, who are a qualified group upon looking them up. Written recently, in 2014, so has the advantage of current technology and applications Journal Article- “Elon Musk Donated $10M To Make Sure AI Doesn’t Go The Way Of Skynet” Easily accessed as it is present in almost (if not) all national and worldly news sites Less qualified as it is the news interpretation of what most likely stemmed or will stem a technological eventinstead of an authoritative text written by very qualified individuals who are masters in their respective fields not just Writing. The text was written after the date of the donation which happened in the past 12 months. 9
