Sumerian Empire Gilgamesh was the en (ruler) of Sumer. Had the first writing called cuneiform. They had 3 social classes: Ruling class, middle class, and the working class. Developed a calendar with 12 months. Sumerian Empire

Akkadian Empire Sargon built the first empire. Capital city was Akkad. Lasted 200 years after Sargon died. Were conquered by Babylon. Akkadian Empire

Babylonian Empire Created a system of taxation. They made the code of Hammurabi. Had the “eye for an eye” law. It was the first Babylonian Empire. Babylonian Empire

Kassites and the Hittites Kassites had tried to take over Babylon for many years. They finally did thanks to the Hittites. The Hittites had robbed the Babylonians which made them weak. Hittites had used the chariots. Kassites and the Hittites
