GROUP PROJECT AMAZONS WENT2001 ADOLESCENT REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH

INTRODUCTION With the wide use of internet we want to provide a comprehensive site to young men & women, parents, teachers, and policy makers, who have questions pertaining, but not limited to, unwanted pregnancy, unsafe abortion, sexuality, RTIs, and responsible sexual behaviour of people ages Young people’s sexual and reproductive health has been neglected partly because these issues are extremely sensitive in some culture. Young people find it hard to talk about it with their parents and vice versa.

GOALS Advance the basic human right of all women, men and youth to make free and informed choices regarding their own sexual and reproductive health, and advocate for the means to exercise this right. Ensure that women’s equality and right to family planning, sexual and reproductive health remain a priority in national and international development policies

SHORT TERMS GOALS  Providing information which educates in ALL aspects of positive sexuality, including birth control, safe sex and sexually transmitted diseases, masturbation and self-pleasuring, anatomy, diverse sexual orientation and identification Providing reliable, complete, scientific and accurate information on reproductive health and Reproductive Tract Infections

LONG TERMS GOALS Young people are increasingly sexually active without proper access to sexual health information, education or services. Cultural barriers continue to obstruct the provision of effective programs that would address the rising incidence of adolescent pregnancy, abortion and sexually transmitted disease. Programs that could help young people realize their sexuality in a positive and responsible manner should be developed Safe and Responsible Sexual Behavior

Encouragement to know as much as possible, and from an educated standpoint, make sound choices based on personal ethics and values gleaned from family, role models and the individual teen self Mainstreaming Reproductive Health Education Tools to encourage abstinence until readiness, such as information on masturbation and self-pleasuring, and to do so from a standpoint of positive sexuality, rather than anti-sexual behavior and sexual punishment A nonjudgmental and unbiased attitude of tolerance and understanding for teens, whether they choose to be sexually active or abstain

AUDIENCE Main audience 15 –24 years old (women and men) Parents Educators Policy makers Academic communities and researchers
