FactorizationsFactorizations How can we find the longest factorization of a number?

Whiteboard Practice Send a teammate to grab one whiteboard and one whiteboard marker per every two people. Work with the person sitting next to you to find the longest factorization of 100. (longest string of numbers that multiply to get 100)

Our Work…..

Exponent Definition: An exponent tells us how many times the factor is repeated.

Practice: Using your whiteboard, work with your partner to find the longest factorization for 72. When you believe you found it, copy your work into your notebook after the warm-up for today.

Practice: Using your whiteboard, find the longest factorization for 120.

So…..???? What kinds of numbers are in the longest factor strings for the numbers you found?

So…. ??? Continued How do you know that the factor strings you found cannot be broken down any further?
