India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep20072 STATUS OF HO All 72 honeycomb panels (with trays inside) are installed on all wheels All 36 RBXs are installed on all the wheels Already the wheels YB+2, YB+1, YB0 have gone underground Vertical panels (sectors 1 and 7) were installed after the wheels went underground Still YB-1 and YB-2 are on the surface and are expected to go underground around 10 th October. On these wheels even vertical panels were installed on the surface itself

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep20073 STATUS OF HO For the moving wheels (YB± 2, YB ±1), there are 6 RBXs per wheel and signals from two adjacent sectors come to one RBX. For the YB0 wheel, signals from one sector go to one RBX situated on that sector Even though one wants to test the boxes after installation on surface, it was not possible for YB+1 because of lack of time and for YB0 because no proper infrastructure YB+2, YB-1 and YB-2 are tested on surface

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep20074 STATUS OF HO DSS cables (LVTMM cables) were introduced suddenly just before YB+2 wheel went down i.e. in Jan 2007 These were meant for measuring temperature and moisture and thus to detect water leak But it was very inconvenient to install them on our boxes because of geometrical position

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep20075 STATUS OF HO YB+2 –Everything is installed –Water leak test done –Signal patch panel is ready with all optical fiber cables from detector terminating in PP –Wheel went underground in Jan 2007 –Cable chain to take signals from PP to USC are laid –CCMs are fine for LHC locking frequency –LVTMM connections are done –Commissioning of 3 boxes remaining

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep20076 STATUS OF HO YB+1 –Everything is installed. –Water leak test done –Wheel went underground in Feb 2007 –Cable chains are installed from PP to USC –Commissioning of boxes is done recently –LVTMM connections are done –CCMs are fine for LHC locking frequency

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep20077 STATUS OF HO YB0 –HV cables go to different places (near, far, underground) –LV cables go to two sides (near and far) –PP is on near side only –Wheel went underground in March 2007 –PP contains only 3 cables from each RBX(TTC, calibration, laser) and from all the 12 RBXs –Data cables go from RBXs all the way to USC

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep20078 STATUS OF HO YB0 –Water leak test done –Optical fiber cables go along the vacuum tank and then go radially along the exit path on chosen sectors to PP or USC –The chosen sectors are 11 and 1 on +side and 12 and 2 on - side

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep20079 STATUS OF HO YB0+ –Cables to PP have been laid for the 6 sectors –Data cables have been laid to a temporary place and boxes for commissioning checks –4 CCMs checked are OK. 2 more to be checked –5 boxes are OK for data. The box on sector 6 has problem in one fiber which carries signals from three pixels. Problem is being looked into. –Thermal screen is installed already on S10 –LVTMM connections are done

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep STATUS OF HO YB0- –Cables from RBXs to PP are laid for the lower half –LVTMM connections are done for lower half –For upper half, cables will be laid after proper cable trays are installed –Data cables will be taken again temporarily to a place for testing of boxes

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep STATUS OF HO YB-1 –Everything is installed –Boxes are tested on surface –CCMs are tested and found to be OK –Remaining work Water tube connections and water leak test LVTMM connections

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep STATUS OF HO YB-2 –Everything is installed –All boxes are tested and found that one RM in S4 has problem with pedestals (need to change one RM if spare is there) –CCMs are tested and found to be OK –Remaining work LVTMM connections to be done Water tube connections are almost done but leak test is yet to be done

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep STATUS OF HO YB-1 and YB-2 –ZEC people only will do water tube connections and leak test –They should be taking up the job sometime next week –YB-1 is scheduled to go down on 10 th Oct –YB-2 is scheduled to go down on 20 th Oct –LVTMM connections also are to be done before lowering

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep STATUS OF HO Patch panels in control room were not ready for HO They needed modification due to changes in our connections and mapping needs The panels have arrived and after some modifications they will be installed Vladimir will do connections in the control room Map is finalized

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep STATUS OF HO The e-log entries can be seen from anywhere if you have an afs account at cern –The path is –You have to login using your afs account and then go to subsystems and under that you go to HCAL –Then you will see all entries for hcal –To understand the entries better you should be more familiar with installation related details

India-cms meeting, Delhi Sep STATUS OF HO This year during the test beam run HO is tested with RBX fitted with Si-PM diodes There is encouraging response But there is dependence on temperature People are thinking to replace HPDs with Si- PM diodes for the upgrade Sudeshna will talk about this more in detail
