Writing Report For The Industrial Project

Topics to Include Abstract Table of content Introduction Background Development Testing Conclusion Referencing

Abstract Discuss the main theme of the project, the summary. Do not make abstract a very long paragraph. By going through the abstract a person should be able to determine what the report is about.

Introduction History of social networking sites.(timeline) Present scenario of social n/w sites.(some interesting facts) Problem statement (why are you doing this project? for whom?) In few lines discuss about the structure of the report(Introduction, Development,….)

Development Discuss how you developed the website. What did you do first? What did you do after that? E.g. - Research on the contents - Installed tools(Photoshop, Dreamweaver, XAMP/WAMP, WordPress, Joomla etc.) - Worked on the layout(wireframe) ………..

Testing Different test cases. Put screen shots E.g. Test case 1 Unit testing Integrated testing Put screen shots E.g. Test case 1 Describe about what you will test here Do not put the result of test cases as “successful” always. We are humans, we are prone to errors. For “failed” do the test again.

Conclusion What did you learn(from technical aspects). Could you have done it in a better way? If yes, discuss the flaws you encountered and explain a little about the alternate. How did you grow from a personal perspective.(A group is made up of individuals and each person learns something. The team leader should ask each member to write what s/he has learned and combine that in a meaningful way)

Referencing Use Harvard referencing to reference materials you have used from some other sources. To use someone else’s contents and not give credit by properly referencing is Plagiarism. Plagiarism is a crime. The report should be about 2500 to 3000 words long.
