Seeking An Unshrinking Faith Not a question of a faith that’s getting smaller. Is a question about a faith that will prevent me from denying the Lord when times of trial or persecution arise. “O for a faith that will not shrink, though pressed by every foe…”

As Exhibited In Hebrews 10 32 – remember when you endured great conflict and suffering? 33 – shared with those who were so treated? 34 – joyfully accepted the seizure of your property 35-36 – you need confidence and endurance

Hebrews 10:37-39 “’For yet in a very little while, He who is coming will come, and will not delay. But My righteous one shall live by faith; and if He shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in Him.’ But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.”

Think About Jehoshaphat On the brink of earthly woes! 2 Chronicles 20:12 – “O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”

God’s Answer To His Prayer… 2 Chronicles 20:15 – “…Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s….You need not fight this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.”

Faith In God – Not Ourselves Romans 8:31 – “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?” Matthew 10:28 – “Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

An Uncomplaining Faith “…that will not murmur or complain beneath the chastening rod…” Hebrews 12:5-6 – “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by Him; for those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, and He scourges every son whom He receives.”

Numbers 14:27 “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who are grumbling against Me? I have heard the complaints of the sons of Israel, which they are making against Me.”

No Grumbling Philippians 2:14 -- Do all things without grumbling or disputing

A Fearless Faith Deuteronomy 31:6 – “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.” “A faith that shines more bright and clear when tempests rage without; that when in danger knows no fear, in darkness feels no doubt!

Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; whom shall I dread?

Matthew 10:28-31 – “Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

Abba! Father! Romans 8:15 – “For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, ‘Abba! Father!’”

The Source Of Such A Faith Romans 10:17 -- So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. “Lord, give us such a faith as this….”

Faith From Within? Luke 17:5-6 -- The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.

Just Do It! 1 Corinthians 16:13 -- Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

Living Crucified Galatians 2:20 -- I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
