HOPE FAITH GOD’S WORD

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we

understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” Hebrews 11:1-3

Everyone puts their faith in something.

Our faith is the subfloor of our hope.

Our faith is ONLY as good as what we put it in!

We are encouraged to grow the right kind of faith from our study of God’s Word: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17

“All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a

distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country

of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for

a better country--a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.” Hebrews 11:13-16

HOW can we come to this type of faith in Jesus? “Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

We must hear the Word of God. That’s why Jesus said, “He who has ears, let him hear.” (Luke 8:8)

“The knowledge of the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given

more and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.” Matt. 13:11-12.
