Presentation transcript:

I began my educational journey earning my bachelor’s of science degree in English from Xavier University of Louisiana.

After graduating from Xavier, I briefly attended Howard University where I began working of my master’s degree in English literature. However……………..

After working as a long-term substitute teacher and attending outdoor education, I realized I enjoyed working more than students than spending time in the library.

Working as a long-term substitute teacher, I was able to earn my master’s degree in secondary education though Johns Hopkins University PROMAT program.

After teaching in Montgomery County Public Schools for several years, the growth of my young family caused me to switch to the Anne Arundel County Public School System which is closer to my home.

During my second year of teaching at AACPS, I began taking online courses with Johns Hopkins Partnership program with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) to earn my Administration & Supervision certificate. As a member of the JHU-ISTE cohort, I was able to participate in the National Education Computer Conference (NECC). Participated at NECC in 2007 & 2008 Add NECC Slide Show

After finishing up my online coursework, I realized in order for me to fully understand the role of an educational leader that I needed to continue to my education by pursing a master’s degree in school administration at Johns Hopkins University Systemic Change Process for School Improvement Action Research for School Improvement Advanced Instructional Strategies Administrative and Instructional Uses of Technology Effective Schools and Effective Instruction Education of Culturally Diverse Students Cross-Cultural Studies in Literacy Data-Driven Decision-Making for Schools and Organizations School, Family, and Community Collaboration for School Improvement I School, Family, and Community Collaboration for School Improvement I Seminar in Educational Administration and Supervision Internship in Administration and Supervision

By the end of 2009, hopefully, I will have completed the first half of my educational journey by, finally, earning my degree in administration and supervision.
