Global Citizenship Schools Support for primary schools in learning about and acting upon global issues. Launched at Congress (Global Solidarity)

INTO Congress 2015 Launch Ready-to-go lesson plans for all ages provided on this website (into.ie) or choose your own! Integrated approach covering SPHE, SESE, Languages, Ethical and Religious Ed. possible. Your school is most likely well on the way to becoming a Global Citizenship School. Take the next step. Join us!

What does the school have to do? 1.Your school teaches Citizenship / Human Rights lessons to all or some classes. 2. The classes involved take some follow-up action based on what they learned. 3. Your whole school community is informed of the preceding learning & actions. Your work is recognised by the INTO with colourful signage (suitable for inside or outside) designating you as a Global Citizenship School.

How much work is involved? In reality there is very little extra work for a teacher or a school. G.C.S. is flexible & web supported & fits into your regular school planning with no external evaluation. Ready-to-go teacher selected mainstream class lessons are freely available on-line and require minimum classroom resources.

You Choose Your Own Topics The following are some of the options: Children’s Rights / Human Rights / U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (2016+) Fair Trade / Water / Poverty / Education Climate Change / Conservation / Recycling {Please focus on awareness raising and action!}
